Who is Rigby Co?

So the internet has led you here to the threshold of my blog. Welcome to a carefully curated hole in the internet where I get to write the story of Rigby Co.

My name is EmmaLee Wilson. My little slice of “old school” desert (frozen in time) is planted in Boulder City, Nevada. It’s basically Mayberry for those who wish to conjure it in your mind.

Rigby Co. was created in 2021 as a branded house for my creative journey. From junk journaling, painting, to bookbinding… Everything under the sun is at the tips of my fingers. I only need to create it.

Rigby is a family name. Our roots hold stories, cautionary tales, and lessons to learn. Those stories become so much more when we put them to good use.

My family roots are drenched in perseverance, strength, stamina, and dreams. I remember hearing about my great grandma and her journals written as poetry, or a several-greats aunt who danced in the snow to entertain young children and distract them from the cold.

It made me wonder, what will I do to make my mark in the proverbial snow?

Rigby Co. shares arts and crafts videos, blogs, and tutorials. The seed of love sewn throughout each project is what binds the brand together.

Journals

Journaling is a skill passed down in my family. Documenting time, experience, and passions was always a part of my life. I translated that tradition into junk journaling.

Rigby Co. journal pages are made from stickers, paper, drawings, and collected ephemera from thrift shops, gatherings, travels, and such. The pages tell a story or explore a theme.

Some crafts are being lost to the digital age. Journaling is no exception. I hope, by creating videos, others will share in the satisfying process I have come to love.

Boobkinding

Bookbinding is an art and a work of love. For, if it weren’t for the love of the craft, bookbinding would die to the histories of time.

The process of creating, sewing, and covering a book is time consuming and requires accuracy. Without all three, the product fails.

However, when time and skill come together with a little dedication, something beautiful happens: a book is created.

When I bind a book, I want to produce something new and of value. Each book is covered with care.

Art

I am an artist. Now that it’s on the internet, I can’t take it back no matter what my inner monologue tries to contend. I enjoy creating cozy art, vignettes of scenes, and repainting masterpieces to explore new techniques.

If you’ve read this far, than you are the hero of this blog. Thank you for enjoying a little bit about myself, the work I do, and how I got here. I hope to carry on the perseverance of the ones before me while placing my own mark on the page.
