The Statement Piece: High-Waisted Wide Leg Trousers

For this retro-inspired work outfit, I opted for high-waisted pleated wide leg trousers in a gorgeous stone grey color. The pants are not only comfortable but also very chic and versatile. They can be dressed up with a blouse or dressed down with a casual tee. Plus, they are incredibly easy to accessorize, making them a staple piece in any wardrobe. The wide leg style gives a nod to the 70s but is still very much on-trend today, and they don't get wrinkly throughout the day, keeping the look fresh.

The Classic: Form-Fitting Black Turtleneck

To balance the volume of the pants, I paired them with a form-fitting black turtleneck. The turtleneck is a classic piece that every working woman should have in her wardrobe. It's not only stylish but also practical as it keeps you warm if you work in a chilly office. Additionally, it's a breeze to accessorize and it pairs well with any statement jewelry or scarf. I chose black because it's a timeless color that works well with any outfit.

The Pop of Color: Black Backless Loafers with Floral Pattern

For shoes, I went with black backless loafers that have a fun and vibrant Spanish-inspired floral pattern. These loafers are comfortable and easy to slip on and off, making them a great choice for work. They also add a pop of color to the outfit without being too bold or overwhelming.

The Trendy Accessory & Whimsical Touch

I added two paperclip chain necklaces, which are a big trend right now. I stacked them to create a layered effect that draws attention to my neckline. To complete the look, I add a touch of whimsy with a yellow velvet scrunchie worn as a bracelet. The scrunchie adds visual interest to the outfit and nods back to that 70's retro style that I love. It also brings together the gold in the paperclip chain necklaces and the yellow in the backless loafers. But of course, feel free to experiment with different accessories to find your own personal touch.

Of course, these specific items might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the idea here is to show how you can take classic pieces and put your own spin on them to suit your personal style. Whether you prefer a more modern or vintage look, you can still incorporate these easy hacks to create a work outfit that's both comfortable and professional.
